Scott Young

Scott Young, a former computer systems specialist and application programmer, is a self-taught artist who has worked with glass (mosaics, stained glass, fused, torchworked, and furnace) for over 17 years. His love affair with his current medium began in 2003 when he discovered the art of hot glass utilizing a torch and started Young Designs. Becoming an apprentice in 2004 at Vetro Art Glass in Grapevine, Texas taught him the basic skills of off-hand glassblowing and after working as a full-time glassblower and shop foreman for four years, he decided it was time to build his own private studio in 2008. Scott continues to expand his knowledge with regard to hot glass and has studied under numerous, well-known glass artists such as:

Mark Matthews

Scott shares his passion of the medium with others by teaching both lampwork and off-hand glassblowing.
