A native of Sherman, Texas, Martha graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Marketing. Throughout her career in merchandising, she kept an active interest in the Arts.

She credits her present commitment and success in art to an inspiring range of teachers and mentors that have shared their vision with her over the years. Her work has been accepted in such competitions as Southwestern Watercolor Society (signature status), Texas Visual Artists (signature status), National Watercolor Oklahoma (signature status), Texas and Neighbors, ISEA National Show, and Watercolor Without Boundaries (Texas and Italy).

Martha is a member of these professional organizations: Art Focus XC, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Texas Visual Artists, Oklahoma Watercolor Society, and International Society of Experimental Artists.

Artist's Statement: Painting and drawing are acts of "stepping thru the looking glass" into another world of freedom, joy, and humor-right brain stuff-where there is no right or wrong. It is a form of communication with a Higher Being. I like working with figures and non-objective subject matter in an abstract manner, using large shapes and layers of vivid color and texture.

Mission Statement
The North Dallas Artist Studio Tour is an educational art event that invites the public into working studios of North Dallas artists, allowing an intimate view of the creative process. The Tour seeks to raise public awareness of the quality and diversity of artwork being produced by local artists and to demonstrate that art adds meaning and richness to community life.
