Lori Cusick

“I am an artist, I have always been an artist. As far back as memory serves art has given me liberation from the struggles of daily life. The concept of time passing becomes an abstraction when I am immersed in creating.”

In 2002 Lori made the decision to follow her life’s passion and recommitted her spare time to painting. It was at this time she was introduced to en plein air painting. “The challenges presented by painting nature while being part of that nature have taught me a tremendous amount about studying light and manipulating paint.” You see the influence of her commercial art career in her exciting compositions… silhouettes of the world. The one constant through her paintings is her energetic brushstroke, applying paint with a confident contemporary approach.

Lori Cusick currently resides in Dallas, which is a long way from the mountains of New York where she was born and raised. She attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn earning a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. Over the following years Lori successfully pursued a career as a commercial artist designing for advertising agencies, running her own design studio and is currently Design Director for the award winning Private Clubs magazine.
