Lisa Ehrich

Although Lisa Ehrich grew up in the Delta of Mississippi, she came to Texas to go to college and has never left. She received her BFA in studio arts from the University of Texas in Austin and her MFA in ceramics and sculpture, from the University of North Texas. For 24 years she has been a full time faculty member at Brookhaven College teaching ceramics and for the last 20 years has also served as Chair of the Art Department.

Artist Statement
I make clay objects that are influenced by nature. Embedded in the layers of intention and accident are the ideas that inspire my work: the sensuality of form, implied volume, hu
man touch to a natural object, symbols of fragility, healing, and regeneration.

Mission Statement
The North Dallas Artist Studio Tour is an educational art event that invites the public into working studios of North Dallas artists, allowing an intimate view of the creative process. The Tour seeks to raise public awareness of the quality and diversity of artwork being produced by local artists and to demonstrate that art adds meaning and richness to community life.
