The work I am making now is about bringing order
to a randomly applied system of abstract shapes. It is also about
it's own nature: paint is applied to paper freely and without restriction
then boundaries are designed giving structure to the spontaneity.
This is the nature of water: rain falls freely and is contained
by the boundaries of a lake, a stream or a test tube. A water analogy
is appropriate because my works are in the medium of watercolor
- paint falling freely, contained by the boundaries of an abstract
system, which I design.
MB: "You
really understand the abstract principle."
JM: "That's a strong painting!"
