Danah Moore

With "happy color" and a bit of whimsy, newly relocated Dallas artist Danah Moore seeks to lift the spirit of anyone viewing her work.

Her Designs By Danah studio and gallery, located at 11333 North Central Expressway, Suite 210, in the Atrium office complex, has been chosen for the April North Dallas Artist Studio Tour.

Her 20 years as a resident of South Padre Island, TX, where she was actively involved in her artistic design business, influences her work as seen in occasional tropical scenes and beach settings appearing on her canvases. Her range of media includes oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media and unique collages for which she has received awards.

"I find that presenting the nature of a subject rather than a realistic interpretation Interests and challenges me," says the artist.

Some of her popular series are large, close-up florals, often of a single flower, along with "Seaside Sadie" beach ladies in their flouncy straw hats, and the abstract collages depicting ladies in all of their finery strutting their stuff.

Danah cultivated her distinctive artistic flair under such teachers as Ann Cushing Gantz and Jane Jones, along with workshop training under such mentors as Gerald Brommer, Ken Hosmer, Nita Leland, Stephen Quiller, Joyce Kamikura, Mary Ann Beckwith, Mel Stabin and Chen-Kee Chee.

While her work is found in many public and private collections, she has also worked with interior designers to customize artwork for clients. She accepts custom commissions for individual clients as well.

She is a member of Southwestern Watercolor Association as well as women's service organizations, P.E.O. and Altrusa. The 2012 Fine Art In Dallas Art Engagement Book includes artwork by Danah in its current edition.

A graduate of SMU with a background in education, Danah is excited to continue her creative endeavors "back home" in the Dallas area.

During the last year, Danah has had work accepted into four juried art shows, winning awards for her unique styles.
