Carolyn Rekerdres Carolyn began her art career designing rugs and other decorative objects for interior designers and architects. After co-owning a decorative art business for twelve years, Carolyn’s work is now featured in commercial settings and private residences both nationally and internationally. Having traveled the world and lived in places such as Italy, France, England and Morocco, Carolyn’s inspiration, mainly deriving from the waters of the Mayan Riviera and Costa Rica, exudes culture and experience. Currently, Carolyn continues to work on a series of paintings entitled “The Generosity of Water” which seeks to examine the meaning of spiritual transformation through allegorical use of the figure in the landscape. Carolyn also paints plein air landscapes in New Mexico and East Texas. Carolyn participates in a “daily painting” exercise and posts these small paintings on her blog. Mission Statement: The North Dallas Artist Studio Tour is an educational art event that invites the public into working studios of North Dallas artists, allowing an intimate view of the creative process. The Tour seeks to raise public awareness of the quality and diversity of artwork being produced by local artists and to demonstrate that art adds meaning and richness to community life. |
