Annie Davis

Annie Davis has been sculpting in the Dallas area for over thirty-five years. Specializing in portraits, she characterizes sculpture as capturing a moment in time. She has the joyous gift of creating the inner spirit of a person. Annie works primarily from photos and measurements and will work with the client until everyone is satisfied. Her ability to capture a likeness of her subjects is extraordinary. She is in both private collections and public art through the U.S. and abroad. She has won numerous awards in competitive shows and is a past President of Texas Sculpture Association. Annie also Welds, and works in Kiln formed glass. She lover color and form.

A fifth generation Texas she has lived in Preston Hollow for most of her life. She taught with the Young Artists Program and in her own studio for a number of years. Her first sculpture classes were at the Dallas Museum of Art under Octavio Medellin. She has also studied with Bill Jameson, James Surles, Lincoln Fox, Art Shier, Liz Wagoner, David Newton and George Davis. She has three beautiful daughters and eight extraordinary grandchildren. Though she is a proud Texan, she and her husband George Davis spend their summers in Maine.

Mission Statement:
The North Dallas Artist Studio Tour is an educational art event that invites the public into working studios of North Dallas artists, allowing an intimate view of the creative process. The Tour seeks to raise public awareness of the quality and diversity of artwork being produced by local artists and to demonstrate that art adds meaning and richness to community life.
